can these lights be operated with a regular 0n/off switch? not just an EZ phoyocell timer switch.

Yes, the lights will function to turn them off and on. The switch has two positions: one to cut off power and the other to turn on the power. When the switch is in the on-position, power will transfer to the transformer and then the transformer will deliver power to the lights. If you decide to install a dimmer switch, you must use our dimmable transformer. This transformer allows voltage to pass through and therefore, dim the lights.
