I have paver dot in my sidewalk - how do I pull a dead one out and replace it?

Concrete walkway was poured around paver dots. Need to replace a defective one. How do I remove the dead one?

In order to remove the light itself you will need a flat head screwdriver or similar flat rigid pry tool to get underneath the edge of the light and pry it from the pvc housing. Note that this will likely damage the light beyond repair due to the sealant used to fix the light inside the housing. once removed a new light can be connected to a power source and reinserted in the original pvc housing.
