A Big Kahuna (6") post cap will fit over a post measuring 4x6, though it may be 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" in which case you'll want a Grande (5.5") cap, I would suggest attaching a 1" strip on either side of the top edge to give the cap a solid place to rest.
