Can I cut wires to diable the lights on some sides?

I noticed that the price the the same regardless of how many sides of lights. Can I just order post caps with lights on all 4 sides and cut wires to change which sides are lit depending on how they look after installation?

The only configuration you couldn't create by doing this is the 2 sided with lights on opposite sides of the cap. This action would void the warranty as the ends of the wire would not have the factory water seal. A better option would be to pull the light bars away from the cap and tape over the holes. Then attaching the loose sides to the inside of the cap with tape. This way the light bars are still intact and can be glued back in place if desired.
